Holster Info/FAQ
Custom Prints
If you're bored of the standard colors and prints found on almost every holster, you've come to the right place. We are pleased to announce an easier way to get the print you want for your holster or carrier; just follow these steps:
- Go to the website KydexInfusions.com
- Find a pattern that you'd like, and take note of the name of the pattern and any other options that you can choose (color, material type, etc. Don't worry about the size - we'll take care of that based on the item, but we almost always will use the largest size)
- Come back to our website, and in the "Color" option for the holster/carrier, type the info from Step #2
- That's it! We'll order the material and get your holster made to your specifications!
Note that there is an additional flat $15 charge for each item that has one of these printed options. Because these items are printed to order, please note that this will add approximately 2 weeks to the turn-around time. However, once we receive the prints, your order will be given priority. The index is "infused" instead of printed on, so this allows for a much higher quality print and is more resistant to wear over time. As always, if you have any questions about this process, contact us for more information.
FAQ
Below you'll find a little more info on the different features and attachments that we can incorporate on your holster. We offer many options for each holster, and sometimes it can be confusing or overwhelming to choose from those different options. The information below will help guide you on those choices. If you have any questions, please reach out to us and we can help guide you through what will work best for your specific carry options.
Will my holster/carrier look exactly like the pictures?
Your holster/carrier will look very similar, but not exactly as it appears on the website. The majority of our products are made to order. As you may have seen, there are numerous options available for each item. We want to give our customers as many options as possible, so they can have exactly what they want. Some aspects of the design, such as minor geometric changes, concealment wings or screws and posts, may be slightly different from what's pictured. However, we guarantee that the function and durability will always be of the highest quality.
Holster Attachment Options
We have many different holster attachment options for OWB and IWB methods of carry:
Wings
On IWB holsters, wings provide leverage to pull the grip of the gun inwards towards the body, to help reduce printing. The grip is the most difficult part of the pistol to conceal and a wing helps immensely.
Cant
One important feature of your holster is the cant. Cant is simply the angle of the barrel in relation to the body's vertical axis. For our outside the waistband pancake holsters, we provide three angles:
- No Cant (0 degrees)
- Mid Cant (7.5 degrees)
- FBI Cant (15 degrees)
A 0 degree cant is completely vertical, a mid cant of 7.5 degrees is the most popular amount of cant, and a 15 degree cant is most commonly called the "FBI" cant and is the most aggressive cant that we offer.
The holster to the right has a "Mid Cant." If you would like a more aggressive cant, order the "FBI Cant." If you would like a vertical cant, order a "No Cant" or 0 degree cant.
Sweat Shield Height
The sweat shield is the rear part of the holster that sits between your body and the firearm. We offer our holsters with three options: low, mid, and high sweat shields. A low sweat shield is roughly flush with the front of the holster and the high sweat shield will extend to the top of the slide, or nearly the top of the slide. This provides the most sweat protection from your body. The mid sweat shield sits in between the two and is the most popular choice.
Attachments and Add-ons
Threaded barrels, suppressor-height sights, red-dot sights, extended controls and many other add-ons are popular choices for self-defense handguns. If you have any of these extra controls, please let us know so we can build your holster to accommodate these features.
Will kydex holsters scratch my firearm?
Yes, it is inevitable that over time and repeated holstering/re-holstering, you will see some small scratches on the surface of your firearm. However, unlike fabric or leather holsters, kydex does not absorb moisture and does not trap dust/dirt like fabric or leather holsters do. Scratches can be minimized by keeping both the firearm and holster clean, which you can do by using wipes or soap and mild water.
Thread Locker
We do not put any thread locker on our products when we ship them out. We want you to be able to make any adjustments to the item when you receive it. Different body shapes and belt stiffness and tightness will all contribute to how much retention is needed to secure the handgun or magazines. We recommend the use of blue thread locker (do not use red, trust us!) on all screws.
Once you receive your items, try it on (with unloaded firearms, of course). Make any adjustments as you see fit. Then, remove the carrier and unscrew one screw at a time, placing a small amount of thread locker on the threads at the end of the screw. Then reattach the screw to the desired tightness, being careful not to overtighten any components. Once all of the screws have thread locker on them, re-test the fit and make any necessary adjustments.
Warranty
We offer a limited lifetime warranty on all of our products. This includes normal wear and tear, and does not include abuse/misuse of the item (including modification or dremeling) or lost/missing hardware. If you have any issues, please contact us and we will either repair or replace the item.
Return Policy
You can return any items for a full refund up to 30 days from receipt of the item (therefore, the 30 days does not include a lead time or shipping time).
Order Changes
You may change your order up to the time that we ship it out. If you need to make any changes, please email us with your order number and desired changes. Please note that some additional changes may occur additional charges (for example, changing to a different holster style, adding different belt clips, etc).
